Metal Slug 3 is an exciting and well-rounded platform shooter that forces you to battle your way through multiple levels with a variety of powerful weapons and unique vehicles.
The Metal Slug franchise has been around for well over two decades, and this run and gun series of games has broken quite a few records over the years. While there are intense debates about which is the best title in the series, many people agree that Metal Slug 3 is the crown jewel in the franchise. Even though this game doesn’t have any groundbreaking features, Metal Slug 3’s development team was able to perfect many of the features that make this series great.
Even though the developers did try to add a unique backstory to Metal Slug 3, that storyline is relatively forgettable. You are going to play as a special forces commando who must fight their way through a variety of different militias, guerrilla armies, and highly-trained assassins. The first few stages are relatively calm, but you will quickly be thrown into hectic battles with dozens of enemies on the screen.
Mastering this game’s controls shouldn’t take you very long, but that doesn’t mean that this game is easy. You will need to constantly jump, duck, shoot, and lob grenades if you want to stay alive. That being said, practically everyone is going to lose quite a few lives playing through this game, but you can easily come back by “inserting” a digital coin.
The graphics in Metal Slug 3 aren’t cutting-edge, but that doesn’t mean that you aren’t going to be entertained. This game is considered to be a masterpiece by many people, and it is a must-have for fans of the shoot ‘em up genre.
